Notability requirementsEdit

Main article: Wookieepedia:Notability policy

Not everything that has ever appeared in the Star Wars universe needs an article on Wookieepedia. Subjects that remain unnamed must generally demonstrate some level of notability in order to merit an article. This can include, but is not limited to, significant dialogue, significant plot role, and appearing in multiple sources. While our Notability policy covers these criteria for some classes of subjects, notability is generally determined on a case-by-case basis by a vote in the Trash compactor. Subjects that have been found unnottable in a Trash compactor vote should not have their article recreated unless new information surfaces.

Main article: Wookieepedia:Notability of fan projects

Star Wars fan projects have specific criteria that they must meet in order to merit an article on Wookieepedia. Unless proof of notability is provided, the article will be tagged with Template:Tl and deleted in seven days. In unclear situations, a Trash compactor vote will be used to determine notability.

FanonEdit

Wookieepedia only covers Star Wars media released by official, unlicensed sources. All Wookieepedia articles must be sourced and attribution to a reliable, published source. Should an article not have any Appearances or Sources listed, it will be tagged with Template:Tl and deleted in seven days.

Fan fiction, or fanon, is not welcome on Wookieepedia. Obvious fanon articles will be tagged with a Template:Tl tag and deleted by an administrator. Fanon is welcome on the Star Wars Fanon wiki.

Nonsense and spamEdit

Articles that contain nothing but nonsense or spam will be tagged with a Template:Tl tag and deleted by an administrator.

Copyright violations are also to be tagged with Template:Tl and deleted promptly.

My article has been deleted. What do I do?Edit

If you feel like an article you've created has been tagged with Template:Tl, but you feel that it has a place on Wookieepedia, there are several ways to contest the deletion:

  • Replace the Template:Tl tag with a Template:Tl tag and explain on the associated talk page why you feel your article shouldn't be deleted.
  • Look up in the edit history who placed the Template:Tl tag and explain on their talk page why your article deserves to stay.

Has your article already been deleted by an administrator? No worries—everything can be restored if needed. Look up in the deletion log who deleted the article and then explain on their talk page why the article was wrongly deleted. Please note that administrators' decisions, including deletions, cannot be overturned by another administrator. Don't go complaining to another administrator about your page. They cannot help you.
